We were driving to meet friends and wanted to take a beautiful potted plant in a beautiful pot to them as a gift. Hernandez nursery in East Palo Alto just happened to be along the way. After we stepped in, Rodrigo Hernandez gave us a quick tour, understood our needs and our unfamiliarity with gardening in California. We didn't want to get the car muddy, as well. He found us a pot, moved the plant we chose into it, added fresh soil and put it in a cover. We were happy and on our way in 10 minutes. He didn't charge us for his labor and the prices were surprisingly reasonable. This is a place to visit for all gardeners living in these parts. For some education, a lovely conversation with a nice gentleman and additions to your garden!

This plant nursery is amazing! I had been looking all over the Bay Area for a bonsai maple tree and they had 3 in stock! The owner and the bonsai caretaker were both incredibly kind and knowledgeable. They were very patient and answered all of my questions and even offered their continued guidance as the plant will grow and mature. I am so happy that I chose to begin my bonsai journey with a maple from here and I can’t recommend this nursery enough!

Very good service and reasonable price. Went on 2/12/2026 and picked up 1-gal size English lavender for $12. I had some questions about permitted landscaping plans, and Rodrigo, the owner, was very knowledgeable and gave me some valuable tips from his experience. I'll definitely go back when the time is right.

Best nursery in the area!!! The owner, Rodrigo is extremely knowledgeable and kind. I picked up some plants as gifts for friends and he helped me make great selections. I went in wanting to just get a fern, but come out with several cool plants. Very reasonable prices too! He has a great selection of flowers, vegetables, house plants, trees, seedlings, etc. Lots of things I can’t get at my local Home Depot. The little garden he has is so cute and well-kept. I also had some orchid troubleshooting questions for him — my mom has been trying to grow orchids unsuccessfully—and he generously gave us expert tips! Pretty interesting techniques I had not known before. I wished I lived closer, I would buy all my plants from them and probably come there often to ask for advice! The nursery is an a fantastic location with plenty of parking. It’s easy to swing in quickly before getting on the bridge. They also share the lot with a little gift store next door, which makes it convenient if you want to gift your plants. Please do stop by there and support them! They’re a family-owned, local business.
